Job Description
We are looking for an Application Engineer to join Discover Financial Services, a leading digital banking and payments company. As an Application Engineer, you will collaborate with product designers to enhance the user experience on discover.com. You will analyze, design, test, and deploy new features to production, guiding a team towards achieving key results for assigned products. If you have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 3+ years of experience, and expertise in technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, React, and UI, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and features with high quality.
- Mentor Associate Application Engineers and influence team commitments.
- Guide design decisions and proactive solutions for potential failures.
- Manage risk, escalate issues, and contribute to technology communities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale (for internal applicants).
Bonus Points If You Have
- Java, Spring Boot, React, UI Technology, TDD, BDD.
- Experience with Selenium/Cucumber for test automations, Cloud, and containerization.
- Strong team player mindset.

Compensation: Base pay ranges from $86,500.00 to $146,100.00 with additional incentives.
