Job Description

The Data Center Operations Technician I position at Flexential is ideal for individuals who excel in providing physical and Level II technical support to customers. This role requires proficiency in Facilities infrastructure, Windows OS, and PC troubleshooting. Successful candidates will represent Flexential professionally and with technical expertise, ensuring top-notch customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely resolution and escalation of Facility and customer issues.
• Maintain professionalism while performing data center tasks.
• Troubleshoot and document technical issues using Flexential's ticketing system.
• Follow Flexential Support and Data Center policies diligently.
• Offer local access and escort services for vendors and carriers.
• Perform remote hands work for customers, both internal and external.
• Support 24/7 operations and be available for shifts in a 24x7x365 environment.
• Assist in physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
• Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the Data Center and surrounding areas.
• Complete Facilities Rounds and report important updates.
• Handle all shipping/receiving tasks for Customer and Flexential Deliveries.
• Operate and Manage Badge Access Security System efficiently.
• Assist Critical Infrastructure Manager (CIM) when necessary.
• Manage cabling and general usage item inventory levels with local management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
• Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, adherence to commitments, and meeting deadlines.
• Preferably 1 year of experience in an IT Support environment.
• High School Diploma, AA, or BS degree.
• Network +, Security +, or CCNA certifications desired.
• Microsoft MCP or MCSA certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Aptitude for working in cold environments.
• Capability to handle pallet jacks and lift heavy objects.
• Proficiency in pulling and installing cabling.
