Job Description
The Florida Department of Financial Services, Office of the General Counsel, is seeking Senior Attorneys and Attorneys to join its teams in the Contracts & Rulemaking, Prosecution & Enforcement, and Workers' Compensation sections. Senior Attorneys will work on a sophisticated portfolio with private-sector relevance, while Attorney positions offer training and experience to those newer to the legal practice. This role offers a minimum salary of $75,000 for Senior Attorneys and $65,000 for Attorneys, with state health insurance and retirement contributions included.
Responsibilities
- Assist in contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance with state and federal laws.
- Provide legal counsel in competitive solicitations and rule promulgation.
- Represent DFS in licensee discipline, licensure denial, and rule development.
- Litigate in administrative and appellate forums, as needed.
- Secure workers' compensation coverage for injured workers and handle related legal matters.
