Job Description

Johnson Regional Medical Center is looking for a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team on a full-time basis, working weekends and occasional nights. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens, conducting various tests, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring quality control practices are followed in all areas of the clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-complexity testing as well as moderate complexity and waived testing.
  • Inventory and order supplies for different laboratory areas.
  • Act as a lead for assigned laboratory areas under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager.
  • Interact professionally with the laboratory team and other departments to ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain knowledge of new testing methods, products, and technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology, or Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Certification preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with laboratory equipment.

Physical Demands

This position involves working in a hospital environment with exposure to various hazards. Candidates must be able to lift up to 35 pounds, stand for extended periods, and operate lab equipment safely.
