Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team at Freeman Webb Company. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the physical plant, working under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in all types of maintenance projects.
  • Perform electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, and circuits.
  • Conduct plumbing work including cleaning stoppages and replacing fittings.
  • Replace broken glass, tile, and other items.
  • Paint both interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Perform carpentry tasks such as fitting doors and building shelves.
  • Assist in custodial work and grounds maintenance when necessary.
  • Participate in emergency schedules and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure proper stock control and material utilization.
  • Assist in apartment inspections and refurbishing prior to new residents moving in.
  • Maintain a safe workshop/storage area and adhere to work-safety programs.

Qualification Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have a high school diploma or GED, along with prior maintenance experience. You must have a valid driver's license and be insurable. Additionally, basic math skills and proficiency in reading and writing English are required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position involves physical activities, including standing, walking, lifting heavy objects, and working at heights. The work environment may include exposure to weather conditions and some level of risk.
