Early Head Start Teacher

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Early Head Start Teacher to join the team at HumanKind, a renowned non-profit organization serving children and families for over a century. The ideal candidate will work in a pair to provide direct supervision to eight children per classroom, delivering high-quality early education and development services. As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will use research-based curriculum, assessments, and family engagement strategies to foster children's cognitive, social, and emotional growth, ensuring their success in school.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive care and effective teaching methods to promote healthy development aligned with educational frameworks.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that facilitates communication, critical thinking, and life skills development.
• Develop weekly schedules, lesson plans, and activities using approved curriculum to support individual child learning.
• Utilize assessment tools to identify development concerns and collaborate with the team for inclusive services.
• Engage with families, support dual language learners, and utilize technology for educational planning.
• Ensure compliance with licensing standards and participate in continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Knowledge of early childhood education and infant/toddler development.
• Ability to teach various age groups, adhere to standards, and establish professional relationships.
• Flexibility, time management, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Physical capability to lift children, conduct home visits, and use computer systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma for Contingent Teacher with early childhood experience.
• CDA or equivalent for Teacher role, preferably with a Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Required health documentation and background checks.

Compensation

Salary: $14-$16.8 Hourly Wage
