Job Description
Marion County is seeking a Mental Health Skills Trainer for Supported Employment. The vocational specialist will play a vital role in helping individuals with severe mental illness find and maintain employment that aligns with their preferences and abilities. Our evidence-based Supported Employment program aims to empower individuals by offering job development, career exploration, benefits planning, and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized Supported Employment services following IPS standards and a person-centered approach.
- Offer job coaching, guidance, and coordination to assist participants in their job search and skills development.
- Conduct employment research, job development, and foster relationships with employers to create job opportunities for participants.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with program and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Three years of relevant work experience in behavioral health services or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Possession or eligibility for a MHACBO Qualified Mental Health Associate certification.
- Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Knowledge of mental health concepts, community resources, crisis intervention, and recovery models.
