Mental Health Skills Trainer - Psychiatric Security Review Board - Supportive Housing - Part-time

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Mental Health Skills Trainer to join the Marion County Health and Human Services team. In this role, you will work with individuals diagnosed with serious mental health challenges and co-occurring substance use disorders under the jurisdiction of the Psychiatric Security Review Board. As a Mental Health Skills Trainer, your responsibilities will include providing individual and group skills training, case management, and supervision to promote independence, community integration, and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group skills training in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IALDs).
  • Facilitate skills training groups and assist with community integration.
  • Monitor individuals' compliance with conditional release orders and community safety.
  • Maintain the supportive housing site, including residence and office upkeep.
  • Document services provided in accordance with program requirements.

Requirements

  • Three years of relevant work experience in a behavioral health services field or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Current Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) Qualified Mental Health Associate certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history.
  • Knowledge of mental health concepts, community resources, and skills training strategies.
