Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Job Description

Johns Manville Corp, a proud member of the Berkshire Hathaway family, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team at the Milan, OH facility. As an EHS Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining plant safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies. You will oversee health, safety, and environmental activities at the plant, managing the HSE Team's performance and driving safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure facilities operate in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Drive initiatives to identify risks, prioritize reduction needs, and implement safety strategies.
• Oversee incident investigations and closure of corrective actions.
• Assess EHS structure, develop staff, and provide safety leadership training.
• Coordinate safety activities, establish action plans, and drive continuous improvement in environmental monitoring.
• Manage industrial process wastewaters, hazardous wastes, and HSE metrics.
• Ensure knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance of process changes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of environmental, health, and safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience in water permit and hazardous waste management.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA).
• Strong organizational, training, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work with diverse teams.
• Must be physically able to perform essential job functions.
